About

Francesco Laporta is an Italian golfer from Castellana Grotte, Italy, born on October 10, 1990.
By perfecting his talents in South Africa, Francesco turned professional in 2013 while playing out of the Glendower GC. Over three years on the Sunshine Tour, he gained vital experience for the Challenge Tour. After going through all three stages of the Qualifying School, he was able to book a rookie season on the DP World Tour in 2015. In 2019, he got his first two victories on the Challenge Tour — the Hainan Open and the Challenge Tour Grand Final — securing his DP World Tour card. He also topped the HotelPlanner Tour ranking in 2019.
These performances led to Francesco landing on the Main Tour. After three years on the main tour, including a Race to Dubai Final in 2021, he returned to the HotelPlanner Tour in 2023. And that return came with rewards: he successfully regained his DP World Tour card and finished that season ranked 13th, with one victory along the way.
But Francesco didn't stop there. In 2024, he once again qualified for both main tour finals and finished 2025 ranked 55th.
Beyond the course, Francesco is a big football fan and supports Inter — but it isn't just football that he enjoys, he's a fan of most sports. As a child, he played both tennis and volleyball for six years. Outside of sports, he spends his free time with his family, including his 4-year-old daughter, Nala. A proud Italian, he represents his country with pride and is based at San Domenico Golf in Puglia.
